A friend sent this along--This site has a simple narrative for those who do not find the concept of a father deity offensive--and it has some of the most beautiful nature photography I've ever seen. One of the big embarrassments about living in Texas is all the talk about "Family Values" without any investment by the state in the things that can make family values strong. This article came out last fall, and if you missed it, you might find it interesting:

Of course, part of the problem is that people get married too young down here. But that could be discouraged, if education became more important--I really believe that. You can't run a risk of starting a family until the degree or apprenticeship to help you make better money is in your hand.
