The agony and ecstasy of taxes, cont.....
So the IRS sends me a form letter informing me that they have reduced my refund by $20, and that I can keep quiet and let that stand, or I can call and talk with them about it.
The problem with this is, this money is 99% estimated taxes I paid in 2009, and $3 TurboTax-told-me-to-take-for-other-reasons, passed through to 2010's 1040. They've had the interest for over a year, and I need work on my car, so I asked for it back.
Now, they want to keep $20.
Does this mean I have to refile both my 2009 and 2010 taxes? I am confused, so I guess I get to call them.
Sigh.
