ArmadilloCon is going great guns...

Well, I have made all my panels (but by the skin of my teeth -- there's always too much to do at conventions.) I think I kept order at my steampunk panel and let everyone talk without trampling on anyone. They were all very interesting writers, and the audience enjoyed it. Thank you to those who came to my reading -- all seemed to like where Allie was going and what she was up to.

Today I have to decide on what to wear (I know, you'd think I already knew that. I picked out two days' clothing. The third day? Not so much.) Then get over there for my autographing. Will probably take a few books with me. I have permission to socialize, since there's a charge for the wireless. But will take one Alfreda reference book in case I have a moment!

I have held expenses to one paperback, a Peri pie pan for a steal price, and two tee shirts that will actually fit me, as opposed to the sacks I am currently wearing. They are to be chosen today, and Scott will make them before the Dead Dog, ideally.

Very excited to find out that Ilona and Andrew Gordon have moved to Texas! Can't wait to share the names of some good restaurants with them.

See you there!

Yay, enjoy yourself! I didn't know you hadn't followed the big move saga as chronicled on their site blog ^^ - you can actually follow their feed via LJ http://ilonafeed.livejournal.com/ - their old LJ is no longer updated or used.

I haven't added their feed to anything yet, although I went and read up a bunch of their site, when I was ill. It's funny that they left Portland, and Portland was a place I thought about moving to! ;^)

I like the convenience of getting them on my Friends page aka my blog reading list (LJ and various feeds because I don't like a dedicated newsfeed reader) - and then when I have something to comment I go to their site ^^.

From what I gather the weather in Portland did them in, heh.

I can understand that -- the gray gives me pause. But it was 112 F here yesterday, and rumor has it we may have another year of this pattern before (please ghod) swinging back to our previous pattern.

My hope is to be able to afford hiding up in the Great Lakes area in summer, and returning here in September. In other words, need a bestseller!

I'll be buying your book, so you're already partway there ^^

Thanks for the feed! No, I used to pop over to their site to read Curran's version of things that Andrew wrote. Was not a regular -- still trying to keep track of real life last year.

I hope I can arrange to get to know them better. I like their work, and I think we'd get on well. In the meantime, got to become a bestseller myself, here. Back to work!

Great to see you!

Are you guys in Houston, or up here? If you're up here, we could eat someplace with GF dining sometime and catch up! (Some place not too $$$, as I am poor girl. But not dead girl, which is a BIG plus....)

Yes, we have to catch up. ;) We're in Houston, sadly, but I often come up to Austin (used to be twice a month, hope to do so again soon)...but Michelle coming up is rare.

Life got complicated, and my mail rolls away.... At any rate, sometime when you're going to be up here, maybe we can go someplace cheap I can eat, like Zen or PeiWei, and do a lunch and catch up? Would like to meet Michelle, too, but maybe our first talk would bore her?

You look happy. I hope that is the case!

She doesn't come to Austin much. She has social anxiety issues as an introvert (even though it doesn't look like it.)

Will let you know when I come up next!

I can relate, as I am also an introvert. Just let her go at her own pace!
