Ok here....

Just wanted to let people know that for now I'm fine. The closest fire is seven miles away, but the winds are from the north, and it's moving away from me. I am packing for evac but do not expect to be asked to leave.

The problem is, I have an appointment at 1:45.

What am I worried about?

My 16 year old cat.

I know. With people and property in danger, it's crazy but true. I am most worried about the cat. I'll take the flash drive with me.

I'm glad to hear you're safe, and I'd think first of my cats as well. I'd grab my backup drive (external 500 GB drive, easily portable) in that situation, but I'd spend my time worried sick about my two fuzzy babies.

Prayers for you and your kitty (always kitties, no matter the age) that you remain safe.

Always appreciated. I'm not in any immediate danger, but the fire crews are stretched to their limits, and one of the bigger fires is only seven miles away. So I am not rushing, but I keep grabbing things on the pack list and piling them together.
