Amplifying the Signal -- MAGIC GIFTS by Ilona Andrews
Ilona Andrews has a lovely holiday gift for fans of Kate Daniels and her crew.
It's a 35,000 word novella called MAGIC GIFTS. And if you move quickly, you can have your own eBook of it.
Their publisher has granted a two week window for fans to get this book, and we all know that Amazon and B&N cannot handle a free document in anything like two weeks. So it's up at their blog. You can get it in PDF, EPUB (Nook) or MOBI (Kindle).
Don't have a reader; don't want to read on the screen? The novella will be in the back of GUNMETAL MAGIC, the next book in the Daniels timeline. So if you can wait that long, it will be yours in print.
Me, I have Calibre, and Nook for PC. I have obligations tomorrow, but this coming week, there will be time to try heated coconut egg nog (I am assured it is good!) and read Kate's adventures. Remember to say thank you!
PS -- If you have never read their short story "A Mere Formality," it is wonderful SF AND a very funny Adult humor short story. Right up there with "Still Life With Boobs." I wouldn't let your kids read it, if you don't want to be explaining things in detail to them (or have them busily defining terms on the net) but you should definitely enjoy it. Stan Schmidt should have bought this one!
