I have a tattoo on my upper arm, which is usually covered by my shirtsleeves. Sometimes the bottom edge peeps out and catches someone's eye, but usually I'm the one pulling up my sleeve to show it off because I still love it so much, two years later. :D For my part, I'm happy to talk about it and wouldn't mind if someone caught a glimpse and asked about it.

The only tattoo-encounter I've found rude/intrusive was when a coworker saw the bottom edge, and came over and pulled up my sleeve himself to look at it. >:( Not cool!
