W...W...W...Wednesday?
Yes, a day for catching up! Here's the site.
To play, answer the following three (3) questions. You can seek out covers, or just list books.
1.) What are you currently reading?
2.) What did you recently finish reading?
3.) What do you think you'll read next?

* What Are You Currently Reading?
Recipes for Repair by Gail & Laura Piazza
This cookbook is designed for anti-inflammatory cooking. It also has recipes for basic vinaigrette & oil salad dressings, homemade mayo, homemade nut butter, homemade pickles -- in short, it's turning out to be a nice little cookbook. I've made at least five recipes from it so far, and they're all keepers! The book even comes with an errata sheet for mistakes in either the recipes or in which Phase a recipe version belongs. You can follow the phased diet, or just sample and use what works for you. Plus, there's an assessment test in the front, so you can see if you are inadvertently eating things that might trigger inflammation.
So -- not just for people who ever had Lyme. Arthritis sufferers, other inflammatory disease folk? This one so far has proved worth the price tag. Put together by a doctor, a food specialist/mom and her photographer/previously ill daughter. I'll be working my way through it for a while.
For fiction, I started A Taste of You by Jennifer Stevenson last night, and whoa! This is not the frothy little fantasy I was expecting. This is tough, how it feels to be trapped for decades as an energy vampire first person, with some wicked humor thrown in. Can't wait to get back to this urban fantasy!

2.) What did you recently finish reading?
Water to Burn by Katharine Kerr
I enjoyed this quirky little urban fantasy set in glorious, fantastical San Francisco. Gave it four stars at Goodreads and Amazon. (I thought Goodreads reviews rolled over automatically to Powell's but maybe that's changed?) Here's the review.

3.) What do you think you'll read next?
Well, some non-fiction is entering into the mix, but of the fiction, here's what I'm excited about:
The Serpent Sea by Martha Wells
Cold Fire by Kate Elliott
The first books of these series were absorbing reading, so I'm looking forward to both of them. I also have a late Xmas gift coming in the mail --
Fair Game by Patricia Briggs
Have enjoyed Pat's two werewolf series, and I hear this one is a zinger! Choosing which fiction book is next will be tough.
In the meantime, I'm also re-reading Magic Bleeds by Ilona Andrews. The scene with the golem is writing magic! I thought I posted a Goodreads review of this, but I can't find it, so you'll have to trust that I liked it.

A Taste of You looks good, too.
I love the Cold Magic/Cold Fire books and now am waiting anxiously for Cold Steel. They're fabulous.
I'm not really into urban fantasy unless it's foreign setting (preferably Brit) or historical feeling, but I see some other titles there that look like I should investigate. Great list.
I'm here: http://planetpooks.com/?p=4363
And I think I'll cross post to my LJ, now that I'm thinking about it!

I saw several of your books looked enticing, and I like the "two sides of history" aspect.
This is fun! I just wish that Live Journal allowed me to make the layout more attractive -- it looks good on your blog!

The Book Thief is amazing, and now that you mention it, two of my recs were "two sides of history." The Tudor and the Nazi, when you consider that Book Thief tells a different side of the story from what most write about.
