I'm not the only one who wants you to register to vote

Writer John Scalzi also wants you to register to vote.

Bottom line. I don't want to hear any grousing from ANYONE who does not register, and then vote, this year. Don't tell me you're blue and live in a red state, or red and live in a blue state. I live in %$#@$ Texas, all right? This is your right, your privilege, and your responsibility. There are people trying to take away a lot of your rights.

If you don't start screaming, it will happen.

So -- start by shocking the heck out of the pundits. Register to vote, and vote. Lots of links after the jump to Scalzi land.

The other thing about highly partisan states is, you might not be able to budge the Electoral College, but the downticket races are extremely important.

Arizona--yes, crazy, blood-red Arizona--is thisclose to electing a Dem Senator. The House races are slowly getting bluer. And the state legislature might actually lose more of its crazies. Two years from now, please FSM, we will get rid of Governor Elphaba.

Two years ago, it all went the other way. Because one side sat at home, and one side went out and voted. If you sit at home, and things don't go your way, you did that. And everybody else like you.
