Looks like they decided to have fun with the guy, which is the only reasonable response. He's an outer fringe wacko and deserves nothing but somewhat sad amusement from the rest of us.
I've actually been rather pleased that the vast majority of my friends on Facebook and lj have had the attitude that, the election being over, it's time to shake hands and work together. I've seen this from both the liberals and conservatives among my friends. I know some pretty neat people. :)
I thought YOU were planning a lifetime boycott, because of what was at the link and was flabbergasted. Until I clicked through. And then I was more flabbergasted. What is that guy, a two year old toddler who has to destroy things when he doesn't get what he wants?
Yes, I think we're talking a permanent case of "It's my ball, and if we don't play Kickball my way, I'm taking the ball and going home!"
I didn't think anyone would mistake that header for me, but perhaps I should edit it? No, I'm an adult -- I only boycott people who are child adults and are warned first. And then it's just I don't need that energy in my life.
But like anyplace in the world, we do have our lunatic fringe. And here, especially with the Internet and 24 hour news cycle, someone will give them a pulpit.
Also: I did expect you would have a relevant reason if you did boycott all democrats and was rather worried what you knew about democrats that made you want to boycott them for life (as in: I don't keep up much with politics and I might just have not heard something horrible about them yet, which had been found out). I'm relieved to see it was just my misunderstanding (I'm a non-Native English speaker, after all).
You have marvelous comprehension, Estara -- I wish I knew a foreign language so well, but I grew up in the middle of the country, so I have minimal knowledge of several languages.
I'm sure his family will thank him. I'll bet you a dinner that he's the one who turns every family gathering into a pitched battle and a nightmare for the sane ones.
