My one splurge at Worldcon....

I'm down to my last two copies of Night Calls, so I can't let any more out. But I am trading books to artist Elizabeth Berrien, the wondrous wire sculptor who weaves metal and light to become incredible things. She is making me a tiny Chinese dragon! Here's her unicorn page:

She won Best in show with a 3D wall piece called the Entwife. It was AWESOME. I must win the MegaMillion soon....

Glad I wasn't there. I would have been fatally tempted by an Entwife, no matter how hard it was to get home - and how much space (that I don't have) such an item took up.

The Entwife was at least 6 feet tall and five feet wide, and I can't remember if that one was $2400 or $4400 dollars, so not only a trick to get home but BROKE going home. By the time I got to the art show, all her very small pieces had bids on them, but she does take commissions. I would have bought every single small piece as a tree ornament for friends, if I'd gotten there first. Quick sale, BAM!

Her pegboard corner was magic.
