I say "bush" as opposed to tree because it is 37" tall. It's a small hut, a connecting post and a flat platform on the top. 37" tall, 23.5" deep and 17" wide. Sturdy. Completely covered with short, beige carpet. There's also a carpet cube hanging under the platform from a cord. The hut roof is a dog-tooth style, so there are actually two usable platforms.

The boys used to sit on it when I had it in a corner of my dining room, so they could watch me work in the kitchen. But there is no good place for it in this small apartment, and now it has become a mail catch, and occasionally Merlyn and I play hide-N-go-seek with the hut.

This is free to a good home! But you'll need to come get it, if you want it sooner. I would need a friend to help me lift it.

Those of you looking for a new cat, take a look at this darling Maine Coon/Rag Doll mix -- about five years old, and apparently a sweetheart. She needs a home!

Pati Nagle has a new e-book out, and the hero is a feline with opposable thumbs and the ability to talk. It's SF, of course, and talk about a dangerous and sneaky gumpaw detective! And the love interest is a Burmese -- Merlyn is excited about this story! I'll definitely put this one on my list.

EDIT: A sample from the book!

Here's the scoop (no pun intended...):

Can a lowly gumpaw hope for love with a girl who rides in a jewel-encrusted carrier?

Feline investigator Leon, with opposable thumbs and the ability to talk, is possibly the most dangerous cat in the galaxy. Indentured to the Security department of Gamma Station until the cost of his creation is paid off, Leon alternates between harassing his human partner/roommate Devin and fighting sleazoid criminals, yet still finds time to flirt with the lovely Leila, an exotic Burmese who lives in the swankiest level of the station. Will he win her heart, and more important—will he win his freedom?

I'm not sure whether Merlyn will laugh at this or tell them to run. I still can't find my black scrunchy.

And he wonders why I guard them so carefully.

Naw -- he knows why!

I forgot to grab my precious alpaca scarf and put it back in my coat sleeve before hanging up my coat. Later I heard Merlyn rustling on top of the massage table cover. It's strong nylon mesh, so he usually never gets on it. I came by later and found him stretched out the length of the scarf. He is a very happy cat, but he's going to get moved -- I can't trust him all night on my scarf!

It's official -- Merlyn is hyperthyroid, and cannot handle the one med they use for it. It's radioactive isotopes ($$$) or nothing. Considering I have not worked in three years, I am suspicious of using radiation to kill anything, and he's gonna be 15 in August, there will be no killing of thyroid. I just have to feed him to keep up with the burn, and live with him talking constantly. (They call it night yelling. My cat sitters will be thrilled.)

The biggest concern was shortening his life, but he's outlived his brother and older half-brother, so he's doing fine. I think of him as my Dorian Gray kitty. He looks like a teenager cat! Also, this can mask kidney problems. But he may not have kidney problems, just the thyroid problem. I plan to just love him, and not give him any more of the med that made him hurl constantly and me wash the bedding every day for a week.

Now I know why Max was giving me the look whenever I said he was 19. He was only 18. But I am famous for forgetting actual age, and usually try to duck the subject.

Wow. Patient cat. IF Max or Merlyn had allowed this, they would have been wiggling long before the bow arrived.

In cat years, Max is 102 and Merlyn 78.

Don't tell them. Max thinks he's sixty-five and struggling to look fifty, while Merlyn thinks he's twelve going on eight.
