%^&%^$#! taxes.....

And I'm getting behind! Found out that the company I got stock options from claims to be out of business -- so thoroughly they can't afford to mail out letters to everyone telling them the business is ca-put, so said people can start writing off the loss on their taxes! So without a letter, I am wading uphill at this point.

And I need to separate out insurance papers where the company paid me the pittance they covered. Yes, I can file medical this year -- long year, 2005.

On the other hand, I helped an 80+ year old man move his head from side to side for the first itme in a long time. Next time we'll get him back even more flexibility.

Now, T'ai Chi Chih, and then another tomato (haven't gotten back to them!)

Grumble . . . .

I thought about upside down, but the kind I'm growing can be heavy -- didn't want to overwhelm and have it crash down on someone's head.

So what's Capoeira? It would probably look like slow-motion break dancing of some type.

How are you learning your Taichi? Book, video, teacher?

If you don't have a teacher and would be interested in feedback, I've been doing Yang style for 4 years (reached black belt) and am learning Chen, and I'm kinda interested in finding people to do Taichi with outside of class.

I have a T'ai Chi Chih VDS a friend encouraged me to get--nineteen moves and one pose, I think -- manageable for me right now. When I didn't have much energy, it let me start very slowly. I could see doing actual T'ai Chi some day, but my budget is hellish right now, so I putter around in my living room.

I have this bizarre feeling it's helping my hands. Maybe I should have photographed them at their worst -- but I thought it would go on to much worse, and decided not to...

Taichi can help all of your joints -- especially with correct implementation. It tends to loosen and open your joints, which should improve bloodflow and all that other good stuff.

Some variation of Embracing Horse is the fundamental static posture for most martial arts (as far as I can tell), and it has components of finger loosening as well.

When I see you next I should have you show me your moves.

That is very cool!

It was -- helping older people can be very hard, because they are (understandably) afraid of something new that might hurt. So I didn't get as far as I might have in a normal 1 hour session. However, this man is still sharp and believed his neighbor when she told him Critz might help. After leveling his pelvis I concentrated on his neck. I knew it would give him the greatest understanding of the technique. Got him back about 40 degrees on each side!
