I've had a Pfrimmer specialist digging at my shoulder for two hours, but we may have made progress (pain is gone for now)--and I don't have enough current tools experience on Robohelp or Framemaker or recent tech writing experience to get the job I just did a phone interview for...but this article certainly brightened my day!

It's just a bad news day here--first I can't get a tech writing job because my writing tool skills are too old, and my web skills too young. Then I find out the stock I bought from a start-up six years ago is worthless, so I get a deduction on my taxes. Now this--I sincerely hope trouble does come in threes, because I'm done now.

And the local community college doesn't teach RoboHelp or FrameMaker, last I checked. Crap.

(The following Reuters snip is not good for me...after seven days without Vioxx, I cannot move my hands. Just left a message at the doctor's office....) Thank heavens for the Lone Star Iconoclast.

NEW YORK (Reuters) -- The arthritis drug Vioxx, used by millions of people around the world, is being pulled off the market after a study confirmed long-standing concerns that it raises the risk of heart attack and stroke, the manufacturer, Merck & Co., said today.

"Patients who are currently taking Vioxx should contact their health care providers to discuss discontinuing use of Vioxx and possible alternative treatments," Merck said.

Favorite line from the debate:

"The President relied on Afghan warlords. He outsourced that job too."

Favorite bumper sticker of the moment:

"If you aren't completely appalled, then you haven't been paying attention."

(I'm going to get a No-C.A.R.B. tee shirt, too...with my diet problems it is too appropriate.)
