Andrew Sullivan picked up a link from a Brit trapped in the northland by her spouse's love for the bleak wildness of it all. So, she gave up the day job and is trying to survive her kids and the north. Up until now, I suspect the blog has merely been her lifeline to friends and family far away. But now, we've found her. I've only read the last 3 posts, and laughed several times (making chocolate crispies and the dollhouse at school killed me) -- I MUST write for the next hour -- but here's her profile:

Moving to Northumberland from London was not my idea. My husband was in fact the only one terribly keen on the move. When I asked my younger son what he thought, he confided: "Bears might eat me". "There are no bears," I told him as I looked into the darkness and the growling started.
