Humorist Katherine Turski has written Confessions of a husband beater, about her talent for soundly defeating her beloved spouse at just about every game they play. I must admit her solution sounds like a good one! My Ex was not this fanatical about games (almost) but a friend once kept a bunch of us up until 4 am -- he refused to quit if he wasn't winning. Needless to say, I avoid those types of games with him, and if caught in one would set a time that I was bailing!

Book View Café’s Extraordinary Steampunk Photo Contest

Have you been working on the steampunk costume to end all steampunk costumes, determined to win at the World Science Fiction Convention this year? Here is your chance to record your efforts for posterity! Do a great costume, take a good enough picture, and it may be the cover of the second Shadow Conspiracy anthology!

In celebration of Book View Press’ upcoming release of The Shadow Conspiracy Volume II (SCII), Book View Café is holding a steampunk photo contest. The winning photo will be used on the cover of SCII which is scheduled for publication in December of this year. Prizes for the winning entry will include a copy of The Shadow Conspiracy Vol. I and The Shadow Conspiracy Vol. II, as well as assorted e-books from BVC authors. Additional photos may be chosen for illustrations in SCII.
