alfreda89: 3 foot concrete Medieval style gargoyle with author's hand resting on its head. (Katy Rose Pink)
I finally got through to BackListEbooks! I'm not on the web site yet, because they are building a new site, but I am in their Amazon section. Go here to see all my chicks (and anthologies containing baby chicks!)

The reason it's a bald link and not nicely placed is because I'm on a borrowed laptop at a friend's, and installing Link freeware on his machine would be rude.

Yes, I'm house sitting! My cat is heartily bored with this house, seeing as he's in the master bedroom suite only, and gets only two rooms when I need to go elsewhere. But he might bolt out, or one of my friends' three cats bolt in, amd I don't want to deal with it. So.

Made friends with the cats fairly quickly. My friends left so quickly that they forgot to shovel the cat boxes. So I went around doing the cat boxes. Rascal was charmed by this, and did the 'rolling over in a ball looking at me upside down' to show me how cute he was, and how much he appreciated me hiding evidence of his passing from any larger predators.

The cats eat 3x a day, canned, which is why I'm here ansd not driving 20 miles round trip 3x a day. I've shut my place down except for taping shows and the fridge, and go back for LMT work, paying bills on-line and getting clothes/food etc.

This stay has been good in several ways. I have learned that a) a fan is still required in any room in the house where you spend time. This is just a Texas requirement. There is no fan in their media room, which is nonsense. B) -- Although I would sleep better at a cooler temp than the 76 F I can afford, 65 F is too low for the house for regular activities. C) -- My guess is that this house is 5,000 square feet at the least. It's too big. 5 bedrooms, LV-DIN-MED--Kitchenette/big kitchen, 3 car garage -- it's too much. If I can ever afford a house again, it won't be this big.

Getting some work done actively (writing) and sideways (reading/market study) and finished my research book on 1790-1840 changing US society. Very interesting, cleanly written. I enjoyed it. Someone over on Amazon complained that it was a dry read. My only comment on that is, if he thought this was dry, he has never had to read a REALLY dry book for an assignment.

Was supposed to stay another week. Now, it may be longer. But since it's harder for me to post to other sites, this may be my portal for now.

It was 101 F yesterday. In early June. I'd better find the money to drive to Michigan later this summer.

My Twitter rollovers had disappeared, so we're back to double posts for the time being. Sigh.
