Well, I was always taught that you wash your hands after using the toilet because, even if you didn't accidentally pee on yourself, you did get e coli on your hands. Your body produces more of it through your perspiration between your knees and your belly button. This is not so bad for your family, who has more contact with your e coli -- but it can be dangerous for unrelated people. The little critters are on your underwear, your hands, etc. Don't transfer them to anything else!
Here's a article talking about the joys of perianal sweat, and how easily it transfers to your clothing and to other parts of your body.
I may never shake hands again. Oral sex with a man practicing good grooming, however, is apparently safer than shaking hands. Of course, if we all started shaking penises instead of hands, they would not be as clean -- and women would have to take over the entire government, because men could no longer think.
Life is so wonderfully bizarre!
