An article over on IO9 asks "What does science fiction tell us about the future of reproductive rights?"

It's a very good question. I might return to it after my move, but in the meantime, take a look and tell me what you think.

If you haven't been reading Kris Rusch's blog on writing, promoting, and selling, then you are missing some of the best information out there. She just put out a book of her blog posts last month, too. Here she explains how publishers handled their "monopoly" decades ago, how things have changed, and how publishers are now Behaving Badly.

Yes -- instead of trying to woo writers back, publishers are treating most of them even worse than before.

Keep all this in mind when buying books. There's a reason I haven't bought a Kindle, and probably won't. I do not want anyone controlling this business.
