Happiness is a charity making life easier and getting money for it.

KUT-FM towed off my little 1995 Mazda, my first brand new car, to sell at auction. It needed a rebuilt transmission, and there was no guarantee that would be the end of it (it's had a new radiator and new manifold hood recently.) But the tires were good, timing belt already done, etc. and the body damage was nothing to a trained professional.

They tell you they won't contact you again if it sells for under $500. Well, surprise, surprise, it sold for $800. So either someone will fix it up for themselves, or it's gonna be a flipper.

$800 for KUT, and deduction for me! Whee!

How nice! Kind of a double goodness happening.

I've been so poor lately, I haven't given enough to charity/nonprofits. This makes me feel less closefisted. It's too easy to get tied up in my own problems. My NPR is a great station -- lots of variety -- so I've caught up for many years of no donations, and a few for the future, too!
