Winding down

Late here, especially since we're going to the Texas Renaissance Fair tomorrow. I have been re-building a synopsis from a skeleton I had, and finding it interesting going. It's maybe harder than it has to be, because I am using a prior synopsis as a frame, as opposed to the usual holistic writing style--but I keep finding large swaths of it useful. I'm just tweaking like mad to concentrate the focus.

Have been meaning to post the names of some recent books I've enjoyed, fiction and non-fiction, but too many other things have intruded. I hope my next one will be Staying Dead by [livejournal.com profile] suricattus--it looks satisfying intriguing. Only one slight problem--I see something on the back that I've used in a book I'm working on.

I hope the "mage who has lost his mind" is not a still-living famous mage or reincarnation of someone, because I'd hate to give up my drug-damaged slacker wizard. So, Suri, I really have started him! I can send you the synopsis!

He's not the protagonist!

I adored Staying Dead. Just wish the next one was coming out sooner!

It was wonderful, wasn't it? There's an anthology this fall with a story about W & S! Check Suri's recent comments or web site.

I can just see that meerkat sparkle in your eyes. %^)

Seriously, I will put up my latest read list soon--I will be marking it as **well** worth the trade paper price. Just to get that pesky detail out of the way....
