I seem to remember talk like this about Bush.

Texans talking, circa 2000. Perhaps the country is thinking more clearly now?

Naw -- there are still people out there who think Palin's a pistol, and think she'd make a great VP. Obviously, these are people who think you can learn on the job at the second most important/feared job/position in the world.

Good news -- a friend whose 80+ parents ALWAYS vote Republican are voting for Obama. They're still worried he doesn't have the experience to handle this (Biden made them feel better about the package) but when Palin was announced, McCain lost them.

I don't know about you, but I'm voting in early voting...check and see if your state allows it. And get your vote in there NOW. McCain supporters are trying to pull people out of lines to read stuff, and precincts are not letting you vote if you show up wearing any political tee shirt. (NC recently, and it's happened in TX before.)

In Hawaii no campaign material of any kind is allowed within 200 feet of a polling place, which means even t-shirts. So, if someone comes in wearing a t-shirt, they can either go into the bathroom and turn it inside out, or wear a cheap paper hospital half gown provided by us, the poll workers. It's kind of a weird rule, but at the primary election the 3 or 4 people we had to ask (we pointed out that we didn't make the rules but we were required to enforce them) did as asked and were able to vote.

We also have regulations in that department. People go turn their shirts inside-out and vote. They may have to go outside to change, but I wear a sports bra, so I don't sweat it.

Most of my political teeshirts are aimed at the current administration, so I won't be wearing them poll day.

Here's a sign of the times. The Bryan College Station Eagle has not endorsed a Democrat for president in the last 50 years. Showing their journalistic backbone, they admitted they decided not to endorse any candidate in elections like 1960 or 2004. On Sunday, they came out and endorsed Obama. Now you have to understand, this would be like the Southern Baptist Convention calling for dancing and alcohol.

Except Viennese Waltz -- I don't think they could bring themselves to go that far. Now, the Hustle and Asti Spumante? Wow!

I totally believe this. But -- there is a tiny corner of my brain (the one that says "What if..." and writes SF) that thinks it is quite possible Bush stole both of the elections through voter denial and voting booth irregularities. (Such a simple word, that covers so much.) I advise everyone to vote early. It's too late to get absentee ballots, I imagine. I'll be trying again around 2:30 pm.

I know people who swear they will never vote republican again. I saw a very coarse and insulting door knock campaign joke that was grimly amusing, about a couple from conservative PA, and their voting plan. I am afraid to hope, but could this be the Reagan landslide?
