Over-efficient

Clearly, I'm too tired to rant. Chase Services just closed one of my credit cards with them -- the one I use for major conventions. I had not used it in two years, apparently, since sharing with other writers I'm often paying them instead of the hotel.

I kept that because I'd had it since 1980, and I thought that might count as something. The woman at Chase said the credit score people look at anything kept for 10 years or more, so it will, in theory, stay up.

Why couldn't they be efficient about something useful?

I was going to write the division, but may just blow it off and get a card somewhere else -- like an airline.

Unfortunately, she says they cannot reinstate it at the original date of issue, and that somewhere buried in the depths of the rules (possibly new rules, since I don't usually read through all changes, bad me) that they can close it for lack of use. I pointed out it would be nice to get a letter to that effect. She said they don't send letters to tell people they will cut off after a certain point.

Perhaps I should send an email telling them that they would have gotten me to use it had they done so. Now, I'll find a new card elsewhere.

But life is Too Hysterical right now to waste much thought about it.
