**Headsmack**

In less than 24 hours I have managed to, at the least, jam one little toe and quite possibly break the other one. Why do I watch friends going barefoot in their homes and think I can do this?

Walking is now worse than it was before, and I still have things to get out of the house, plus getting my harp out, here and up the stairs.

It may be time to bake brownies and see if I can bribe Kwame to carry the harp upstairs. Bev, do you remember how far down they are -- the next ground floor heading toward the short drive out? I need to meet his wife and daughter, and ask after the little one (who hopefully is now well and didn't give it to the rest of his family.)

On the other hand -- unpacked six boxes, made breakfast grains and lunch/dinner grains, adzuki beans, roasted a sweet potato and made roasted barley tea. Have not found spices yet -- maple syrup may be the flavor/sweetening agent for the toasted millet/toasted sweet brown rice (with a scattering of black J/Mahogany rices). Tomorrow, seaweed saute, apple/blueberry crisp, and if I can find a blender, a savory sweet potato/butternut squash with a scoop of barley miso, or baked sweet potato "fries" if the blender doesn't surface. (And I bought it a new gasket, which is around here...somewhere....)

Also, today I have worked around the massage table I prepared for the client who didn't show.

His non-appearances are becoming expensive. He may be doing this to give me a huge tip while I'm in move mode (he never tips, but occasionally gives me gifts -- like five years of Babylon 5 DVDs). He's s sweet geek and I wish I could find him a girlfriend, but it can't happen until he has some respect for himself. I watched this with my own, personal geek, whose self-destruction is in a different form. We can be the change we wish to see -- and in this case, pretty much only we can change ourselves -- and have lasting change.

Why yes, it is nearly 5:00 am in my time zone. This is called "what life was like before 5htp" -- the bottle is in a box around here somewhere. Haven't found the rest of the vitamins -- may need to buy another bottle from the nutritionist. At least I've confirmed I did have real benefit from taking the stuff.

So far, chocolate has been my coping mechanism. I suspect the stairs will keep me from gaining any weight.

Iced a lot when first hurt self. Second pain pill is kicking in. Will try sleep.

Get well soon, toesies!

I'm sure you know the drill, but as soon as the swelling is down I recommend warm epsom salt footbaths. Hope your toes recover soon -- I've done the exact same thing in the past year; I was sure I'd broken my little toe but ended up just spraining it. Those little piggies are resilient suckers.

My entire body needs an Epsom soak. Thanks for the reminder.

Kwame and his family live downstairs to the right of you (if you stand facing your door). They are the next door over. Take care of your toe. Love you.

Ow! I am sorry to hear about the toe. Hope it improves swiftly.

It's black 'n blue on the inside where the ice pack would not reach. Damn it. I sure hope I can get a shoe on.

Food first. I deal better with setbacks if I've been feed well recently.
