I've been bad....

That Namiki Falcon is still on sale at Swisher's.

Free shipping?

I WANTS it, I does!

I've wanted it for two years. So...I bought it. I'm drinking cheaper aloe vera juice to make up for it. (No, not as tasty as AloeLife. But it's $7.00/32 oz. to AloeLife's $22.95. That helps pay for a pen and maple syrup for sweetening.)

Yup. Women trade out values all the time. Works great as long as you remember the terms of the trade.

I've been having fun with fountain pens recently. A few friends have discovered how much they love Noodler's lubricated inks. What kind of ink do you use?

I use mostly Noodler's lefties ink from Swisher's online, mostly waterproof, although I love the Noodler's turquoise which is not waterproof and not for lefties. (A problem -- checks must be waterproof. Ms. notes should also be, since they are around the most and most likely to get a drink turned over on them. So...signing cards? Keeping up my shamanic journal?)

My all time favorite is Tahitian Pearl, a blue-black Noodler's for lefties. I'd forgotten about the lubricated inks, or I would have gotten one. I still can't find my older inks! Probably in a nick-nack box by mistake.

Nifty keeno pen. Does it plug into your computer or iphone with a usb cable to transfer your writing, or does it synch wirelessly? ;)

Those WOULD be great features, wouldn't they? No, it's a pen designed with input from the Japanese fountain pen sellers, who wanted a soft, flexible hooded metal nib, among other things. It sat very well in my hand, and should flex for a lefty without being ground to my hand tilt. As long as my thumb hasn't pulled around too much, it may become my regular pen. I never could get the Danitrio to work for me -- always dried up overnight, it seemed. I suggested W try it with Waterford blue-black, not for lefties -- might work for him. I have a smaller Dani to try, once my pen safe surfaces.

[livejournal.com profile] tia_tarina and [livejournal.com profile] dragonherder1 told me that a pen store in Houston used to have a nib guy who came in on a Saturday. For $30 (I think) he would watch you write, and then grind the nib to how you wrote! But before they left, the store didn't have another Pen Maintenance party, so we never got to go.

Gawds, what a horribly tempting site. (Looks madly for piggy banks to break into!)

'Fraid so....

I just gave a Lamy Safari as a high school graduation gift. It was well received! ;^)
