Gotta stop casually checking e-mail....

Here's the latest attack on abortion rights. How about a hospital legally allowed to let a woman die rather than perform an emergency abortion? So we let two die rather than one. Lovely. Not.

And I was going to say something cheery about editing Fire Sanctuary to get it to my copy editor, and swapping off with reading The Introvert Advantage, a fascinating book I wish someone had told me about when it came out. Recommended for anyone who likes interesting non-fiction, because introverts are estimated to be 25% of the population. So they not only need to know how to best utilize their talents for themselves and their work -- their family, friends, and employers need to understand "Oh! That's why they do XXX!"

Back to the editing. So how's your day going?

LOL! I just posted the above article cos I saw it somewhere else!

There is a Psychology Today article about introverts that says people may have miscounted the number of introverts and that there may actually be as much as 30-40%! Many introverts are "closet" introverts and mess up their brains trying to extrovert.

I created a strong extrovert shell to use at conventions, and to try and be more social. I think it royally screwed up a lot of my life. Plus it's part of what I dread about finding a new job outside. Working with people who just don't get me is so exhausting. If you pray, keep in mind my getting healthy enough fast enough to write up my couple of new fantasy series ideas and sell them.

Like in the next 60 days.

You seem to have a better handle on what you need. I realized today that I cannot do a bunch of conventions, trying to get back into selling works. I have to try and do it from here. A convention used to lose me 3-4 days afterward. Now, I think it would lose me a week. I don't have a week to lose.

I always tell people if you are an introvert, don't try to be an extrovert because it won't work and you'll be screwed up. It's a good feeling to read that this book actually backs up what I suspected all along. You can't change but like a left-hander in a right-hand world, you can cope! Plus if others realize you are "coping" and not just "breezing through" it, it makes things so much easier. I have to say I have an awesome job that allows me to leeway with introversion.

Oh heck ya! Conventions are like...whoa... Choose the best ones that will affect you the most. You don't have to go to all of them. :)

I suck at even coming up with ideas for fantasy series, but I hear angels are all the new rage, with vampires no longer trendy after the whole Twilight thing blew up.

So Twilight blew up, eh? The people who loved the last book versus the people who hated it?

The problem with angels is, they become the Greek Gods, if you are not careful -- or so alien that it can't be an equal relationship, ever. Which is my problem with writing about them. I have dragon ideas and shaman ideas. I think I will play to what I want to write. And I need a job that will pay the bills, in case no editor sees my visions as something they want to invest in.

I see my dragon world as quirky, oddly, where the world surrounding the shamans is strange, dark and very alien. Faerie stays very alien, including the vampires and werewolves. They return to the shadows, and they frighten us...with reason.

You are blessed in your work.
