Just a reminder to check the auto-renew status on your domains. I thought I'd set one to Manual, and turns out it was on auto-renew for two years. My decision to drop that one was recent, so I just got dinged by GoDaddy.com for two years on a domain I don't want.

I will be moving everything I can from them in the next two weeks, and the two that I can't move will transfer as soon as possible after their renew. So this just confirms leaving a group that has insulted me with their advertising for several years now. Have been too busy to bother with it.

Make sure you never signed up for their privacy service -- domain proxy (I think is what it's called). Because they make it EXTREMELY difficult to move stuff away from them. Been there. Blogged about it.

I don't think I ever have -- it's part of the reason I have a PO Box and a burn phone, to ensure privacy. But thanks for the warning! I'll allow extra time for the move.
