Your corner of the Internet....

I was going to title this "A new ghetto on Wikipedia," but a ghetto by definition is a place where minority groups are segregated, generally within a city. And women are the majority in America, although you would not know it by salary...or by the fact that someone at Wikipedia is systematically stripping all the female writers from the American novelists category and creating an American Women Novelists category.

No, there isn't an American Men Novelists category.

Since I don't have a horse in this specific race, let's just say that if length is a problem, I suggest breaking the list into three segments, just as libraries used to do when they used card catalogs?

Otherwise? I want an American Men Novelists category, too. A short page, and links to Men and Women.

Just like the restrooms in elementary school.

NY Times, so look fast.

Nothing for gender fluid, for people who are trans -- and do you put G/L by biological gender or some weird decision based on who they are married to? Writers with gender neutral names?

A site mostly written by anal-retentive male geeks, so anyone else commenting has an uphill battle.

I've passed that link along to Making Light, where there are plenty of people (male and female both) who do have a horse in that race, and will not be shy about making their opinions known.

I don't have an entry, and being a bit more private than some, don't really want one. But I do think this is rather important. It will be interesting to see if they come up with a different solution, if the people who might give them money for development start screaming.
