I did it through the Tools/gear setting, but that has changed, too. So far it still works. I get an "Images NOt DIsplayed" banner at the top of my promo emails. I have to click to tell it I want HTML.
Try poking around a message like this:
- click on "Compose" - click on "Plain text" above the typing area (this will hide all the formatting buttons)
Once you send a message this way, your messages may come up as plain text until you switch back to HTML. If you hit HTML for an incoming email, tho, mail from that email address may always open up as HTML. I say no HTML because it takes too much room, is distracting, and might hide malware. But YMMV.
Heaven only knows if you can still set up text. I just posted looking for a new email venue. Of course they did this after I opened a second email with them.

Will NOT be amused. Am I finally going to have to learn how to use Outlook?
