I hate WORD...
Jan. 6th, 2012 02:15 pmSo I am doing a very important document -- a critical document. My resume. I need three columns of bullet points, and don't really want to toss in three lines of actual columns. So I just yanked out a bullet symbol, and built the columns using tabs.
Then I go to draw a straight line of underline. Every time one of the lines goes over BY ONE CLICK to the next line, Word regretfully informs me that it HATES the document, is killing it, and wants to send a report.
I think we're up to four times now, and Microsoft is getting heartily tired of the Error Reports.
* STABBITY * STABBITY * STABBITY *
Time for a lunch break.

Palm Wars continued....
May. 4th, 2011 02:45 pmWell, it WAS looking good. Installed 6.2, and it found my address book, although it installed an old calendar. I could deal. Today? No address book linked up anywhere, although it's still there -- in several locations, no less. Haven't figured out how to detect exact path the software is reading, and am thinking about making sure my address book and calendar are on a gig stick, wiping the machine of Palm, and re-installing.
Of course, I need to mail a grad card and a mother's day card (mother in new apartment.) My friend here who is visiting says I cannot firebomb computer, and cannot touch address book. I am running out of things to destroy....

AVG Saga Continued....
Mar. 18th, 2011 11:24 pmWell, they lied -- you cannot download the Free version without disrupting your Internet Security Suite. I can delete the entire thing and install the free version, or run commando. Installation demands the new license number, otherwise.
I think I will power down the machine and make a calm, informed decision tomorrow. As opposed to deleting AVG in a fury.
Please picture me strangling the stuffed spirochete seen above.
