I may call mine back, because when I talked to Senator Cornyn's answering machine, I didn't mention that stupid paper he signed for the republicans and the tax bill. I did let him know that I was disappointed in him -- about DADT, about the DREAM Act, about the 9/11 Responders Bill. I did mention to his machine that I know the last is not a perfect bill, but he's signed a lot of imperfect bills in the past few years, and I don't like his excuses.

I did tell the polite young woman in Senator Hutchison's office that I understood that the senator did not vote for the 9/11 bill because of signing that document about solidarity over the top 2% earners and tax cuts -- but that I'd been ill for four years and draining my future retirement money, and now I had to try and find a job in all this mess -- that I really didn't give two beans about the top 2% earners keeping their recent tax cut, since there was little to no evidence that they had invested any of that money back into the country. It was time for them to suck it up, and I promised that if I won the MegaMillion tonight, I would not bitch about the tax increase.

I wanted DADT to restore honor to those serving our country, and DREAM to take advantage of young minds being wasted, and support for the 9/11 first responders. And I wanted to know what Senator Hutchison wanted to be remembered for. And that young woman politely listened to everything, although she probably only typed in DADT, DREAM and 9/11 next to my zip code.

Here's the article still up over at Wired, about the four high school boys who beat the best underwater robot college teams in the country, back in 2005. I hope they have stayed out of trouble, and not given up their reading and studies as best they can. 'Cus if I win the MegaMillion tonight, I can give each of them $11,000 a year without them having to pay taxes on it -- and I will pay that into them going to an AZ state school, if they're still there, or toward a private school that will make up the difference in a scholarship. It will be a lot easier to explain that desire if none of them have fallen into the hands of the law.

Minds are too precious to waste. These are right here (or were) and so I'm mentioning them. Maybe the DREAM Act would have gotten at least one of these four boys a chance at higher education.

They've extended the time allowed to sign the petition to Speaker Pelosi. Help keep Dan Choi fighting for us!

We cannot demand a zero tolerance policy on lying of our cadets, and then toss DADT at them. It's stupid, it's illogical, and it is horribly unfair.

So now, to a petition to Speaker Nancy Pelosi to bring up DADT in the House. Of course, she's from California, where they are mostly tolerant of their GLBT taxpayers, but do not want to let those people get married.

You know, the wedding industry really should get on board here. Doubling their profits is only a vote away!

I just responded to this movement, and thought I would post it here, so others may sign and/or pass this on. Lt. Choi goes into the military court Tuesday. Let's send him in there with a stack of signatures and messages as tall as he is... Apologies for possible grammar errors -- I need more protein to think!

Their appeal for signatures and my comment behind the cut.
Running out of patience with idiots.... )
Thank you for your time and attention.
