They can't fire the librarians unless they can prove they could not transition to the classroom. So much for California's edge in the future employment market.

Another legislature wants to allow school districts to fire their librarians and close their libraries for up to two years -- without affecting their accreditation. In a world where it becomes harder and harder to see the lie tucked between a few truths, why take away the people who help children learn how to use a library, a computer -- how to find real information? How to find the truths buried under the lies screamed to the rafters?

If you have unlimited domestic calling on your phone, you should consider calling the senators of OK and ask them who will have time to show kids how to research and find information, when their teachers are about to break under the burden of NCLB (No Child Left Behind IE teaching to the test)? Folks in OK especially!
