Actually, that's the only Clarion West Logo I can find on their site right now. You don't have to sign up--I've already done it! You can follow along @ClarionWest, and apparently even at their Facebook group. You can read the group without joining, you just have to join to post.

Right now the trusty volunteer putting up the professionals writing along is snowed under, because something like 100 writers signed up in the last 48 hours. If I come up at all today, you may see CAT KIMBREL as my name.

Well, I was looking for a pseudonym.

But yes! I am going to give myself permission to ignore the fact that no one wants to hire immensely talented moi (hey, I do not exaggerate! I get the job done!) right this minute and plant butt in chair for things connected with fiction! (That was kinda Scalzi, but he is a leader in our industry, so...)

That means, this weekend, and during the course of the event:

New Nuala covers and files up at Book View Cafe, Amazon.com and B&N.com.
Making sure Clarion West has what they need from me, so when they get my page up, you can follow my exploits! You can donate the equivalent of a movie ticket toward my goal (helping Clarion West raise operating funds, and also getting another book done for me to sell. A two-fer!)
Finishing the first draft of SPIRIT TRACKS. That's the working title of Alfreda #3.
Finishing "Fifth Child," a longish short story about what might drive someone to immigrate to Nuala. (10,000 words and counting.)
Ebook versions of NIGHT CALLS and KINDRED RITES go through production at Book View Cafe.
New web site!
Beta read new Sherwood Smith book (this is not specifically a Write-a-thon thing, but it does have to get done in the next week!)

Will it all happen? Maybe, maybe not. But SOME of it will happen. Maybe all of it will happen. I am determined that ebook versions of NIGHT CALLS and KINDRED RITES will enter production at Book View Cafe. Sherwood's book will be read and comments issued. Editing web site goes up, also with writing tabs.

Vonda N. McIntyre is among the Book View Cafe Writers playing along, either at Clarion West or Clarion the first. (They had matching funds at Clarion West if they got a certain number of writers to sign up. So I'm with Clarion West--it's guaranteed that I've helped them raise money!) Vonda mentioned something about coming up with bribes. I will have to contemplate bribes to those who donate to keep me writing....
