alfreda89: 3 foot concrete Medieval style gargoyle with author's hand resting on its head. (Default)
The garage is flooding. We knew there was potential for this when W bought the house, but we hoped to have extra money for a storm grid. Well, the addition remodeling was more than we hoped for, so the grid was pushed back.

Then we discovered why the messy former owners kept nothing on the garage floor. This is the wettest summer in a long time--otherwise, we might have never known. The tropical air just keeps on coming.

I have a micro-thin sheet of water two feet into the garage now, where everything is up on plastic, wood risers or styrofoam. I see a huge shop vac in our future.

This means I really can't leave the house for fear of worse in my absence--my massage trade partner offered to come over, but it's a mess outside, I felt badly about asking her to do that. I feel too lousy for a massage anyway, but am so busy the rest of the week I don't get another shot until Monday.

Pout. The real annoyance is, I'm out of the wheatless chocolate cookies. Perhaps for the best....

Time to abandon the HTML form and switch to a synopsis!

Still hope to get together with a friend for dinner tonight, maybe Indian. Time for a curry to clear the head.
