500 Years of Women in Western Art
Jun. 1st, 2007 04:07 pmFirst saw this over at
pegkerr's LJ, and then W forwarded it to me, as well.
Wonderful -- you can almost see the classic proportional face shining through all these images. Perhaps this is how the Queen of the Faeries looks to human eyes....

What denial of Gays marrying can mean...
Jun. 1st, 2007 06:55 pmThis was an interesting article I first found in San Francisco's Bay Area Reporter. It talks about how many state governments have dealt with and continue to deal with GLBT relationships. One idea I've discussed with friends before -- why don't the Cheneys simply adopt their daughter's long-time lover? Well, many gay couples are doing this (one adopting the other) -- in states with no limit of the age of the adopter or "adoptee", this provides the visitation in hospital, inheritance without taxes, etc. that married people automatically get.
And some hetero couples are also using these legal techniques.
So -- the drive to eliminate gay marriage is actually washing away sand under the anti-gay marriage platform, and eroding traditional marriage.
