Back to the kitchen....
Jan. 31st, 2012 11:52 amWell, no longer glued to the bathroom. I'm not sure if I've picked up a bug, had a reaction to something I've eaten, or if the radical change happening with my eyes has overloaded and detoxed a lot of circuitry. So need to make some rice. The slow kind, but I'm not really hungry, so that's all right.
This is when I miss bread. Bread and chicken noodle soup. Would have to bake the first (not feeling that good yet) and haven't found a second that I like -- wait!
I think I have Bev Hale's famous Killer Chicken Soup in my freezer! (adjusted to be GF.)
SAVED!

Those paying attention will remember that I cut my utility bill by 40% last year by unplugging my computer every night, and turning off my TV, DVD player and VCR with a strip.
I've added in the loaner television from friends since my Magnavox died.
I think it's time for them to retire this TV. Even with remembering to turn it off 25 days worth, my utility bill has jumped by $30 for last month -- almost double. And with the mild weather, the heat pump is never on. So I just turned off the TV strip for the daytime, too.
Add it up, folks. You can start unplugging that sucker, and it six months save enough to buy a new TV!

Choosing among baggage....
Jan. 31st, 2012 03:49 pmI'm trying to pack with a little bit of sense, getting non-fiction grouped closer to its mates, that sort of thing -- and I found an old Smithsonian desk calendar.
I've kept it awhile. It was a biz book, so I had to keep it seven years. Why have I continued to carry it? I flipped through it, and found Smithsonian's usual care. Heavy stock paper, and dozens of very different cat pictures -- ancient statues, ceramics, paintings, photos of cats, cats with people -- nicely done.
And suddenly I had a very intense flash of myself cutting out these pics and shellacking them to a wall or board in an out-of=the-way corner, like a half bath.
Apparently I might do something with them in the future.
One more trip for it, I guess.
