Trying not to Date a Cousin? There's an App for that...in Iceland.

This is actually a good idea for an isolated genetic group. Several engineers created an app tied to the ‘Íslendingabók‘ database to solve the problem.

On Nuala during Sheel and Darame's time, they actually have something similar. The Atares do not forbid marriage between two fertiles related within a certain number of degrees, but they DO limit how many children that couple can have between themselves.

Regular Nualans can have group marriages and give that child as many half-siblings as they can.

Three engineers made an app for the ‘Íslendingabók‘ database. People can now easily, and on the go, look up how they are related to other Icelanders. And a precious feature, using the bump technology, allows people that meet to just bump their phones together, to instantly see if they are too related to take things any further. The engineers’ slogan for this feature was: “Bump the app before you bump in bed”.

Okay, that's pretty great, actually. :D Find out if you can date, or if you've just found new family - genius!

It is, isn't it?

It's interesting to read up on some of their 'cousin marriage' research. Since they have a full genetic code (and genealogy) on pretty-much everyone, they can do some amazingly thorough work.

I think I would be tempted to look to Norway and Sweden for spouses, if I wanted someone Nordic. Out-breeding would be a good idea.

From what i read and hear about it sucks if you are obviously non-white:

But they have those sort of jerky people almost everywhere.

One of the things that is becoming apparent in a lot of countries on Earth is that the places that used to feel superior about the US having its share of racial problems when they didn't...suddenly discovered that the more people you have with different cultures, languages, facial features, skin color--the more challenges everyone has living together. Some places are trying, and others...nervous. Or flat out won't dabble in those waters.

I was stunned when I found out France has had Islamic "green carders" for generations and they can't become citizens, can't go to college, can't vote...

Does France wonder why they have an explosion of angry youth?

I am not sure if we have anyplace where there is true opportunity for everyone.

So true! And when you think about, the U.S. With its lower than standard level of education on top of it all, we as a country aren't doing that poorly when you start the race so badly handicapped.

France at least historically from what i was taught, always seemed to be an angry place. They beheaded leaders they didn't approve of. I haven't read that about the U.S. yet.

I have a feeling the next ten years here will be tense, unless younger citizens start voting against the GOP. Last gasp of old white men and women. We'll see how it goes.
