Perfect -- unfortunately....
Aug. 4th, 2010 01:11 pmThese bookcases are exactly what I want -- solid wood, sealed to show grain, folding, metal hardware, mission style, plus a top shelf for decoration or cat perch. $99.00 is a tad higher than I wanted, but free shipping.

But...they come disassembled. And according to the one comment, they take two people to assemble. Bother. Will go look at the Container Store ones again to see if they will do. Not mission at all, painted -- but well made and folding and I think here.
FYI -- you can get folding bookcases with metal hardware for as little as $49.99 at World Market, but they are painted, streamlined, no top shelf, not mission style. Not as well made as the Container Store ones or the ones on-line.
If target were not being such idiots, I guess I could get the Target ones and buy metal shelf supports and hinges. Upping price, but extending life.
Decisions, decisions. In the meantime, a friend has loaned me milk cases to stack and use as a bookcase next to desk.
Still pushing 101 F. ....
