Life IS unfair --
Dec. 14th, 2007 11:10 amOf all the people who should not have early-onset Alzheimer’s. GRRRRR. Terry Pratchett is probably the most creative and interesting writer working today, a keen observer of society and human nature. If you've never read one of his books, pick up one today! I recommend starting with COLOR OF MAGIC (send up of major popular fantasy series) GUARDS! GUARDS! (You just need to read it, it's too hard to explain) or WYRD SISTERS (the Edge Witches of the mountains will change your mind about witches forever!) His book with Neil Gaiman, GOOD OMENS is a classic; a must read. Humor will never be the same again, and of all the British humorists, I think Pratchett is the most accessible (that I've read)for Americans.
Terry is not giving up, and thinks of this as his "I'm not dead!" statement. He also says: "I know it's a very human thing to say 'Is there anything I can do', but in this case I would only entertain offers from very high-end experts in brain chemistry."
