Fertilizer is the key --

Why has the world's population gone nuts in the past 100 years? Well, better health care is an obvious point -- but consider fertilizer. Chemical fertilizer made from petrochemicals is subsidized in dozens of countries, raising the health of its citizens by increasing crops -- sometimes increasing acre yields by a ton or more.
But the demand for bio-fuel has cut into this -- and some of the new paradigm began a decade ago, and is just coming to our notice right now. Nitrogen from petroleum is producing dead zones in river estuaries, flushed by rain out of crop fields and into the creeks and rivers. Hog barns are being built close to fields to provide manure -- but those fields need a LOT of manure. Even the middle class in Europe is effected.
So start thinking about where to cut costs, and where to save more money. Because the crunch isn't just approaching. Remember what your car tells you every day: "Objects in mirror may be closer than they appear."
