WE GOT TWENTY REVIEWS!

You are the most awesome folk! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I do not know if they are going to sell more books, but we have tried. Nuala fans, if the books start selling well enough, I have an idea for a sequel to Hidden Fires. It could happen. But I still would like to make a living at this, so:

1) Finish Allie #3 and submit to NYC, with backlist
2) Lay out outlines for Urban Fantasy/curse book, submit to agent
3) Tweak BLIND TIGER and bring it out for the public (yes, Mary, with a map!) as an ebook from Book View Cafe
4) Release a couple of short stories as e-shorts

But first -- I'm going to put up the soup recipe, having had some requests.

You people absolutely rock! I know that a lot of you have never done an Amazon review before, and I am honored that you made the effort for my book. Thank you so much!

Happy Holidays here! There are gonna be sales in honor of things soon -- Amazon and Book View Cafe definitely, maybe Barnes & Noble if they get their act together.

Two to go....

You guys are outstanding! The other two books are jealous, but I'll put one of them on sale after the holidays just to make it up to them.

Best author holiday gift ever --

I have neglected my children, but you can help

This is a post for Live Journal, and it's about stuff I don't discuss casually. We're talking about the nitty gritty of carving out a new life for myself. But if you have a moment, you can improve my situation.
Since I cannot turn off Facebook, we'll try hiding behind a cut )
Thanks for your attention, and all your kindness. And now -- it's Allie's turn again.

New Amazon and other blurb for Fires of Nuala

I have no idea when the new blurbs go up at Amazon, but they're up at Wizard's Tower.

Fires of Nuala

On the planet Nuala, the scam that beguiling free-trader Silver has come to join has just been blown to the skies, along with the throne lines of three separate sovereign nations.

The last male heir of one throne line, Sheel Atare, is unprepared to rule, but he's quick to seize allies wherever he can -- like the beautiful and dangerous Silver.

Now Silver has to choose: stick to the scam, or get sucked into the struggle to save Nuala -- and Sheel Atare's life.

New Fires of Nuala version up at Amazon.com

The first revision of Fires of Nuala should now be up at Amazon.com. As Publisher I did not put any restriction on a second download of the file, so if you'd like to check and see if the ToC now works, give it a whirl.

I hate Kindle formatting. At least for the Nuala structure....

Last day for a large chunk of Fires of Nuala?

We're getting close to our rollover to site upgrade 2.0, over at Book View Cafe, so the serialization of Fires of Nuala is probably running out.

Nope, it won't finish, best as I know, so you can read up to today's installment, and then you'll need to pick up your own copy of the book!

Ack! It's raining! Not that we don't need rain, but this means washing hair before running to the grocery. I sure hope HEB carries brown rice tortillas, because I don't want to drive into town.

If I can find some energy, maybe a dance class today?

A new chapter of Fires of Nuala is up at BVC

Yes, it is Thursday, and BVC has not rolled over into the 2.0 web site, so there's still a free chapter of Fires of Nuala up. If you haven't sampled it yet, now's your chance!

Sorry to be so quiet -- I have been feeling steadily worse since the new year began, but it hits Friday-Saturday mostly. This time it's hung on for a week. I'm not sure if my body simply isn't ready for two hours of light to moderate exercise, or if I'm picking up a new virus every week, or what, but I haven't slept for three nights and I have something monstrously important to do tomorrow morning.

Very tired of being ill, and getting afraid again, since I'm starting to think I'm relapsing. I can't. I just can't. I'm not out of the woods yet -- I can't fall into Mirkwood again.

What the writer is up to...

Well, it's Thursday, it's 20 degrees F outside here in the Texas Hill Country, and my Burmese is sitting on the hot sack in my lap and wants me to move to the lounger and keep editing Fire Sanctuary. We're on our way. Thought I'd remind people what's up on a Thursday.

Today over at Book View Cafe is Chapter 19 of Fires of Nuala. You can also start reading from the beginning, if you've never given it a try. Buy books here.

The Shadow Conspiracy II is now available. It contains my most recent story, "Abide With Me" as well as a lot of other fine stuff. You can read a sample story by C. L. Anderson here. Bonus -- price reduction on the previous collection, The Shadow Conspiracy! Get them now and have an orgy of steampunk reading.

My most recent gluten post went up over at the BVC Blog -- Everyday Gluten Glitches, about the joy of changing over skin care products and such stuff. Bonus -- P&G cleaning products are gluten-free! I'll be testing the second round of a GF/macro chocolate chip cookie recipe tonight, if I don't go dancing (snow and ice alert -- I'm weighing my options. A lotta hills between me and the class, or the long way around.) Or maybe class and baking later. If the recipe satisfies, I'll post it tomorrow, with links to its parent recipes.

I have been researching 1810 clothing, letting Allie explain to me what people were wearing in her 1810 NYC. Then I hope back to her story tomorrow.

More mail later!

Tweaking Fires of Nuala

Today is Fires of Nuala day over at Book View Cafe. You can read today's installment on the front page at BVC, start at the beginning here, or go straight to buying a DRM-free copy over here.

If you bought the Kindle version? Well, I hear things about the Kindle versions -- and since there's back matter in my book, and a working ToC would be a great thing, we're trying to fix the problem. It is not the first priority of the lovely person doing this, but when it's the way we'd like it to look, and I've uploaded it again? I'll post that here, so you can go get another copy of your Kindle file.

Because I want all the versions of the book to look good. It's why there is no version yet over at Smashwords, or Kobo. Because I'll need to learn how to do it myself, and this stuff takes time.

And Allie is talking to me, so learning conversion will cut into blogging, 'cus something has to give. I'm trying to make sure fiction isn't what gives!

And everybody I owe an answer to? You're not forgotten -- today just got busy. Maybe late tonight, or tomorrow morning.
